recious Angel, you were the cat of my heart. You were always there, on my lap, at my side, or just "casually" in the same room for 18 years. I know you loved me as much as I loved you. When I held you in my arms the last time, I could feel your frail body trying to purr. When it was time for you to depart from the world, I stayed with you, cradled your tiny face in my hands and looked into your eyes so that I would be the last thing on Earth you saw before you went to be with God. I hope you felt my love as you made your journey into the Light. Play in joy, Daisy, at the Bridge until I come to you.

DAISY'S DAYS

I have an angel here with me,
so precious small and white,
just like a Shasta Daisy,
She's with me day and night.

Now recently she's told me,
it's almost time to leave,
her earth bound home here with me,
and I've begun to grieve.

For all this time she has been,
my soul mate, companion dear,
it doesn't seem right somehow.
it only seems last year,

She came into my life one day,
and changed it oh so much,
with gentle purrs and kisses,
and her special feline touch.

Dear God you must need a cat,
that's extra special there,
one that loves so tender,
just like a child's prayer.

I know Daisy will tell me,
when its time to depart,
to go lay on YOUR heavenly lap,
and it will break my heart.

I also know that someday,
as I approach your gate,
there sitting patiently,
with waving tail she'll wait.

And when I step into YOUR realm,
she will jump into my arms,
and lavish me with her love,
and her feline charms.

I will try not to cry and grieve,
and least not much,
for When my Daisy does leave me,
I'll feel YOUR tender touch.

Please GOD take care of Daisy,
Let her time left here be sweet,
each day that's left is golden
and a special treat.

Thank you, my dear friend for this beautiful poem!

GOD'S GARDEN

God looked around his garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
and saw your tired face.

He put His arm around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well
on the earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
and whispered "Peace Be Thine."

It broke my heart to lose you
but you didn't go alone.
For part of me went with you.
The day God called you home.

THE GIFT

I gave a gift to a friend yesterday,
With a heart not light nor hardly gay.
Not as a Wiseman come to honor life,
But just a fool trying to do what's right.
I gave not because I'm wise or smart,
But because of the tearing at my heart.
My friend's joy in life had long since gone.
In patient pain the days were long.
My friend gave to me life at it's best,
So in love, I gave her my gift of death.

To a Cat

I shall walk in the sun alone
Whose golden light you loved:
I shall sleep alone
And, stirring, touch an empty space:
I shall write uninterrupted
(Would that your gentle paw
Could stay my moving pen just once again).

I shall see beauty
But none to match your living grace:
I shall hear music
But none as sweet as the droning song
With which you loved me.

I shall fill my days
But I shall not, cannot forget:
Sleep soft, dear friend,
For while I live you shall not die.

ear Saint Francis, lover of all God's Creatures, Watch over your charges at the Rainbow Bridge, keep them safe and happy until we arrive to join them. Cherish our beloved pets for us and assure them that we will be coming for them someday when our lives on Earth are finished. We ask your blessing on all animals here and at the Bridge that they may know God's love and be free from want or distress. In the name of Him who gave His life that we might live forever we pray.

Amen
