Most of cats' communications are done by
body language, particularly by tail movements. For example, when cats are
in a good mood they hold their tails high and steady in the air. However,
a high flicking tail is a sign of frustration or displeasure.
When a cat's tail is down, but its tip is
wagging, she is probably stalking something. If she runs to greet you with
a high quivering tail, you should be flattered for this is an expression
of deep love.

Raised hair on the back and a puffed-out
tail are universal signs of anger and hostility. When a cat crouches low
to the ground, he is feeling uneasy.
If your cat's back collapses away from
you at the slightest touch, it probably means that she is on her way
somewhere and doesn't want you to delay her. She still loves you; she just has other fish to fry right now!
